Special Train Tours in Thailand for August & September
Tickets go on sale on 27th July for 16 trips during August and September 2024 onboard the refurbished Japanese trains.
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) invites the public to join a special train tour on the KIHA 183 route, offering scenic rainy season journeys in August and September. A total of 16 trips across seven routes will be available, with tickets on sale starting 27th July.
Ekarat Sriarayenpong, head of the Governor's Office at the SRT, announced that these special trips will cater to various interests, from nature lovers to shopping enthusiasts. The tours include one-day trips and overnight stays every Saturday and Sunday. Ticket sales begin at 8:30 AM on 27th July, with each trip limited to 202 seats.
KIHA 183 train tours in August:
August 3-4: Overnight trip to Chaiyaphum, visiting Pa Hin Ngam National Park and local landmarks (3,999 THB).
August 10-11: Day trip to Kanchanaburi, including a raft tour on the Khwae Noi River and visits to historical sites (1,499 THB).
August 17-18: Day trip to Chachoengsao for cultural and spiritual sites (1,499 THB).
August 24-25: Overnight trip to Chaiyaphum, similar to the first route (3,999 THB).
KIHA 183 train tours in September:
August 31 - September 1: Day trip to Saraburi, exploring historical railway sites and local markets (1,499 THB).
September 7-8: Day trip to Ratchaburi, featuring boat tours and pottery painting (1,499 THB).
September 14-15: Day trip to Lopburi, focusing on community support and local attractions (1,499 THB).
September 21-22: Day trip to Phetchaburi, visiting local farms and markets (1,499 THB).
September 28-29: Day trip to Chachoengsao with influencers, visiting health and wellness spots and cultural sites (1,499 THB).
Ekarat emphasized that the KIHA 183 tours are a collaboration between the SRT and various local and government partners to boost domestic tourism and support local economies. The initiative aligns with the government's "IGNITE Thailand" tourism promotion policy.
Tickets can be purchased at any train station nationwide or via the SRT's D-Ticket online system. For more information, contact the SRT call center at 1690, available 24 hours.
